Clariba SEIDOR partners with Snowflake – Here’s Why!

Following on from our previous post in which we introduced Snowflake, in this article, we’ll look at the reasons why we at Clariba SEIDOR decided to partner with Snowflake and why we’re excited to be able to offer their Modern Data Cloud as part of the integrated systems we provide to our clients.

Enhanced Performance

Snowflake is built around a multi-purpose elastic engine designed to provide optimal performance in all scenarios. The engine handles a range of tasks automatically, from analytics to data pipelines, to applications and integrations. This centralized approach has the benefit of simplifying the underlying architecture, leading to far more efficient resource usage.

Scaling up or down can be executed instantly, with no adverse effect on performance regardless of the number of workloads or users added. When compared to more traditional multi-engine solutions, it offers far lower maintenance, configuration, and testing overheads.

Cloud-First Solution

While many competing solutions have been designed primarily for on-premise use, and are only recently being adapted for the cloud, Snowflake was designed for cloud deployment from day one. This means more effective performance, with fewer compromises, fixes, or shortcuts applied to make the technology work in a cloud environment.

Snowflake’s advanced intelligent infrastructure uses automation to remove much of the need for manual administration associated with older solutions. Instead, optimum reliability and availability are achieved with automated resource allocation and data management. This also means clients no longer need to factor in the management and maintenance of on-premise infrastructure.

Better Cost Control

As well as optimizing performance, Snowflake’s intelligent infrastructure allows for much more accurate cost control by rightsizing resource usage on a second by second basis—a level of granularity not possible with many competing solutions, which operate on an hourly or daily basis.

For our customers, this means a billing structure that accurately reflects their real-world usage, allowing them to avoid paying unnecessary fees for unused capacity during periods of lower demand while enabling them to immediately scale up availability as soon as needed, without lengthy spin-up time.

Premium Features as Standard

Snowflake offers a suite of useful features as standard, which are either not present in competing solutions or restricted to premium versions. For example, the “Snowpark” feature offers developers a framework to create, test, and deploy new integrations quickly and easily.

On the data side, “Snowgrid” is a powerful data-sharing tool that enables simplified data sharing across business functions. Rather than copying data back and forth, and the associated issues around managing multiple current versions, this feature allows different teams, departments, or partners to access a single copy of the relevant data, making access control and version management simple.

Extensive Data Marketplace

As well as improving internal data management, Snowflake also provides access to a wide range of third-party data sets, including public health, financial and scientific data, which users can access and use in conjunction with their own data to enrich reporting and modelling.

Organizations can select the specific datasets which are relevant to them and only pay for the sets they need to use, either on a one-time or subscription basis. As the data is shared live, rather than downloaded and imported, users always have access to the most up-to-date version, without having to refresh or reimport.

Shared Outlook and Values

Perhaps the most important reason for choosing Snowflake, when compared to the other potential datacloud partnerships out there, was the synergy we identified in terms of our shared goals and outlook.

Clariba SEIDOR and Snowflake are aligned in a number of ways—in our commitment to a cloud-based future, in our refusal to compromise on performance or quality, and in our desire to push the boundaries of technology when it comes to developing ever more creative and innovative solutions for our clients.

We’re looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Snowflake, which will allow us to elevate our service provision and ensure that our clients continue to benefit from leading-edge cloud data technology.
